Gayle Jean Redig was born July 30, 1963 to Arlyn (Bud) and Barbara (Eastman) Fuchs in Wells, MN.

Gayle’s infectious smile, hugs and kindness made everyone who met her fall in love with her instantly. Her crazy, loving personality was one of a kind. Her family and friends were the most important things in her life. Gayle’s 6 grandchildren were of course her everything and more.  She was known as Grandma Gayle or Auntie Gayle to so many other little ones.  She loved having a back scratch and would back right up to you until she got one, Friday night happy hour, and all animals.

Gayle Graduated from Wells Easton High School in 1981 and her received her LPN Nursing degree from Rochester Community College. In 1999, she returned to college to receive her RN degree. She was the most loving and caring nurse, always the first to be there to care for everyone. Even this past year during her battle she was concerned that everyone else was being cared for and apologized to the nurses for having to take care of her.  She married Dan Schultz August 6, 1983.  They had two boys, Tyler and Alex.  After their divorce, Gayle remarried. She met the love of her life, Brian Redig.  Gayle and Brian were married November 29, 2003.  They would be celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary in a couple weeks.

Gayle loved being a nurse.  She worked for Mayo in Rochester for 21 years.  After moving back to Wells in 2002, she worked at the Mankato Surgery Center.  Her co-workers quickly became her family.  Gayle and Brian loved traveling with her family.

Gayle is survived by her husband Brian Redig of Wells, MN; sons Tyler (Danielle) Schultz of Otsego, MN; Alex Schultz (fiancé Samantha Stoppelmoor) of St. Francis, MN; grandchildren: Tyler Anderson, Jase and Alivia Schultz, Payton, Lexa, and Axel Schultz; mother Barbara Fuchs of Wells, MN; sisters, Lori (Richard) Hueper of Kasota, MN; Julie Mattick of North Mankato, MN; Jill (Josh) Rollenhagen of Wells, MN.  Stepchildren Melissa (Dave) Redig of Eyota, MN; Nick Redig of Wells, MN.  Nieces and nephews, Danielle (Rob), Mikel (Mario), Darrin (Katie), Rachel (Ben), Nathan (Sierra), Kelsey (Jay), Samantha (Kalob), and Peyton.  Great nieces and nephews, Riley, Sophia, Jaxson, Mario Jr, Mariah, Marley, Layker, Amelia, Ragen, Rowan, and Benelli.  In laws, Karen (John) Bartell of Minnesota Lake; Mike (Patti) Redig, Minnesota Lake, MN; Dean (Juli) Redig of Wells, MN.
