Julianne Martin, age 74, of Wells, MN died suddenly Wednesday, May 19, 2021, of a heart attack, as she and her son were rushing to the hospital to be by the side of her husband, who had taken a bad fall down the stairs.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at her beloved Wells Assembly of God Church in Wells, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church with Pastor David Harms officiating.  Burial will be in Humboldt, Iowa at Indian Mound Cemetery.

Julianne Irene was born December 14, 1946 in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of Robert and Darlene (Walvatne) Zick.  The young family moved back to Minnesota to enjoy the post war boom and would eventually welcome 3 more children; Cheryl, Robert Jr., and Ronald.  Julie graduated from Richfield High School, the class of 1965.  Julie inherited a love for music and art from her parents, which led her to pursue the study of art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  Here, she excelled at drawing and her particular favorite, Calligraphy.  It was also in 1966, she met the man who was to become her husband, Gerald Martin.  They were united in marriage May 10, 1969 and celebrated 52 years of marriage.  Julie would partner her husband in a number of business ventures, but preferred her role as wife and mother when they welcomed their first child, Sarah in 1971.  The had two more children, Stephen in 1974 and Anna in 1980.  Julie and Jerry, not only wanted to raise their children with a love for the arts, but was even more important, a love for God.  A devout follower of Christ, Julie turned her love of music into praise, as she joined the worship teams in the various churches she attended.  She lately sang with the worship team at the Wells Assembly of God Church, where she was also a board member.

Julie loved to knit-hats, mittens, baby booties and blankets, and also sweaters.  She believed in the power of prayer and duct tape.  She is now in the loving arms of her creator and her family and friends take heart in the knowledge they will be reunited with her in heaven.

Julianne is survived by her husband, Jerry Martin; 3 children: Sarah and Stephen, all of Wells, and Anna of Mapleton, MN; along with her siblings and their families.
