Paul Robert Anderson, Age 65, of Bricelyn died on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at home, surrounded by his family. A memorial service and celebration of life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Bricelyn Lutheran Church, Bricelyn, Minnesota. Pastor Peg Marose will officiate. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, is entrusted with arrangements. Please see brussheitner.com to leave online condolences.

Paul was born to William and Shirley Anderson on September 16, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in the Isanti area and graduated in 1973 from Cambridge High School. Paul moved to Bricelyn after graduation. He married Lugene Whelan in Bricelyn, Minnesota. He adopted Lugene’s son Jason and then they had two daughters Heather and May. They later divorced.

Paul was a professional truck driver for 44 years and drove approximately 5 million miles both accident and ticket free. Paul was employed by J&R Schugel for 30 years. Paul enjoyed motorcycling, 4x4ing, anything to do with cars, he enjoyed camping and hanging out with his best friends Dave and Trixie and most of all his dogs. Paul was someone that you could count on in your time of need. And even in the midst of his courageous battle with cancer, he was more concerned about how everyone else was doing. He would come plow your driveway and only want food or baked goods for payment. If there was a project to be done and he was home, he would be there. He would never say no in your time of need.  He definitely put the H in Hero. He had a soft spot for animals and they loved him, too. He had a big heart. His famous saying was “kill’em with kindness.” He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Paul is survived by his children: Jason Anderson of Kiester; Heather (Kevin) Hays of Owatonna; and May Anderson of Waseca; grandchildren Matthew Anderson, Cheyenne Hays, Philip Hays, and Noah Brunsvold; his father William R. Anderson Jr,; brothers: Dan (Leslie) Anderson, David Anderson, and Peter (Lori) Anderson; sisters: Corrinne (Mike) Klipping and Phyllis Dietz; and Coco-his constant companion dog; best friends David (Trixie) Despenas. Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with many fellow truck drivers he has befriended over the years.

Preceded in death by his mother Shirley Anderson, sister Jillane Anderson and nephew Nicholas Anderson.
