Karen L. Hansen
Karen Lorraine Hansen, age 70, of Minneapolis, MN, died Friday, June 4, 2021 at her home, surrounded by family and friends. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Pastor Don Rose is officiating, burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Karen was born July 19, 1950 in Austin, MN, the daughter of Gordon and Lorraine (Torgerson) Hansen. Karen graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing and worked at Fairview for 35 years. She selflessly devoted the last 15 years to taking care of her parents. Karen loved gardening, especially her hydrangeas.
Karen is survived by her father, Gordon Hansen of Eden Prairie, MN, former longtime resident of Wells, MN; sisters: Susan Collins of Dallas, TX, and Diane Hansen of Delano, MN; nephews: Gordy (Erika) Collins, Loren Collins, Tommy (Jessie) Collins; niece Karen Collins; numerous great nieces and nephews; close friends Carol Davis and SuEllyn Goldsman.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Hansen.

I worked with Karen for several years on the adolescent Dual CD plus 2 unit at Fairview Deaconess. She was well loved by every client and staff that was lucky enough to be around her. Her calm gentle nature made her an incredible nurse and human being. She had a great sense of humor and was the hardest worker I had ever had the privilege to work with in my 35 years at Fairview. Love you my friend and even though we haven’t worked together in years I will miss you

I am so saddened to see this information. Karen was a classmate that very special. Having lost touch with her about 50 years ago, I had always wondered what became of her. I am very pleased to see she was a nurse for so many years; I worked in the hospital lab for 40 years in Alexandria Mn. Karen was always for of fun and smiles (unless you got her mad). Susan, tell your father I have very good memories of his time as Superintendent. Once again I must say goodbye to another classmate and friend. May Hod watch over the rest of the Hansen families

I was so sorry today at hearing about Karen’s passing. I remember her as your younger sister, Susan, one year behind us. We were in band together, attended Good Shepherd w our families, our dad’s were in a play together called ‘Our Town’, I believe. Great memories of you & your family. At this time in our lives, losing loved ones is very difficult.

Although I’ve lived in Wells for the past 42 years I never got to know Karen until her parents began to age, necessitating attention and care. Karen was a devoted daughter to her parents and proud aunt to her nephews and niece. I’m certain that attentive care and devotion shone through during her days working as a nurse. May the Promise of Easter Morning give you all peace, comfort and hope during the days ahead. Blessings to you all.
